To get the soundtrack, just follow the instructions from the user that uploaded it here. The creator also has a ton of other mods and fixes for Quake II for those that are curious. This helps to stabilise the game, introduces a bunch of fixes, adds native widescreen support, and makes the music playable in game. To get it running on modern systems, I recommend using the Unofficial Patch v3.24 available here. The Steam version is just the base game, as it was in 1997. What I will offer though is some tips for making it run smoothly, to take the hassle out of digging through forums.
